NICE BASS, BRO! Snow Strippers Warm Up Chicago

NICE BASS, BRO! Snow Strippers Warm Up Chicago

by Liv Bonocore • 1/31/2026

Making their return to the Windy City 6 months after a set with Boiler Room, Snow Strippers lit up the Riviera Theatre last week. In the dead cold of Chicago’s winter, this energetic, jam-packed show is exactly what the audience needed to warm up.

During the ninth stop on their North American tour, Snow Strippers were joined by openers EERA and Ksuuvi. Their back-to-back dynamic sets kept the fans' excitement high and lively. Anticipation for the electronic duo rose even higher.

Despite there not being an official dress code, the audience seemed to understand a collective memo. Fans braved the cold and filled the venue covered in ripped tights and layered belts, camouflage and faux fur, and plenty of studded, shiny accessories. The indie sleaze revival was in full fashion last Wednesday night.

Snow Strippers have built an immensely large fan base through the internet over the past year. Their song "Under Your Spell” has garnered over 240 million streams on Spotify, mostly due to its virality on TikTok. However, their surge in popularity continues to escalate because they are an authentic return of the early 2000s-2010s indie electronic scene.

Snow Strippers are reinventing the wheel in modern rave culture, which is exactly why this sold-out show felt like a community. Everyone there was a true fan excited to see their new favorite up-and-coming act. Even the photographers and security guards, who were lipsyncing along behind the barricade.

From the very first note of “Just Your Doll,” heavy bass immediately flooded the room, almost commanding the crowd to move and dance along. And the crowd did, in fact, obey. Accompanied by a sea of flashing lights and iPhone cameras, where one can only assume the footage was blurry due to all of the surrounding movement. Singer, Tatiana Schwaninger, continuously flailed and jumped around on stage as she was joined by record producer, Graham Perez.

For the next hour and a half, a fanbase was bonded through moshing, sweat and tears.

Snow Strippers continue their tour through next month and are set for some US festival appearances early this summer. A word of advice from us: “Buy the ticket.”
